About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #461 - Scrapped & Tree

Well it was nearly light enough at 6.21am this morning, when I was greeted by a Waning Gibbous Moon on opening the curtains, always makes me smile, love the moon.

On to my desk is an Asda receipt awaiting the Price Guarantee Check. A note of how to put music onto my cloud.

My "NEXT" scrapbook LOs pending.

YES, Hallelujah, I scrapped over the Easter Weekend, not as much as I'd hoped but something all the same.

Here are the pages I completed.

1)  Some photos of our house and garden last April/May. I used my new alphabet (Zelda) acquired from Julia's sale, for the first time.

2) A page to recall my struggle with Varifocals before I settled on the Bifocals, which are brilliant I have to say.

3) And a page of where I placed a geocache last year having been given permission from the Vicar of the church plus a random car covered in GRASS.

Last but not least my
Easter Tree
all decorated.

WOYWW #460 - Easter Tree

Having seen a white plastic Easter Tree in Asda a while ago and bought some decorations for one, I  shopped around for a nice one but none to be found.

So I pruned a branch from the bottom of my Silver Birch and got the Gesso out, followed last night by the Liquitex. Now I have a nice one.

Last week saw even more egg cutting out for our Easter Event as the number of children attending had risen from 80 > 130!

I went to a Ladies Day at church on Saturday and received the organza gift bag at the base of the tree.

I made a little cross from bits of the tree which were too long and that is sitting next to this month's SWAP which I received via the scenic route as the post code had been read completely wrong!

I did make up some cards though. I used the mini eggs and made one like the wreath for our Pastor's wife as a memento from the Amazing Easter Event she put on last week.

Happy Easter

WOYWW #459 - Easter Cards

Last week I finished the mammoth task of cutting 1080 eggs for the church Children's Easter Day next Sunday. A super Easter Wreath.

I have got a sore neck from all the die cutting, but it's not too bad.

From the minimal waste papers I have managed to cut some small eggs and will be making Easter Cards with those.

I also received a new Quickutz alphabet courtesy of Julia's sale of Mary's craft supplies. It is the  Zelda one which I have always liked. It's a bit funky which certainly rings the changes. All I have managed to cut so far are my initials. I popped them on an ATC with my new Heart diecuts - nice Thanks JULIA super wrapping too.

And who spotted the WOYWW addition on my keyboard too?

Finally I made my March SWAP I used all items already cut as I just need a break from die-cutting just now.

WOYWW #458 - Eggs-plosion!

Yep knee deep in egg diecuts this week.

They are for an Easter children's craft at church, I'd offered to help with cutting out stuff when required and just happened to have an egg die.

So I came home from church with 5 packs of 6x6 Dovecraft papers and a paper plate to make a protype based on a photo the leader (Pastor's Wife) gave me of an Easter Wreath.

This is my prototype.

I managed to fit 5 eggs per sheet and can cut 3 at a time and have cut one 48 sheet patterned pack and one 36 sheet plain pack so far. 420 of 1080 eggs cut.......... So YES knee deep.

My Easter cards are on the back burner for now. The stuff is on my desk somewhere!!! Need a bigger desk!

Bought a craft mag today too, such cutey heart dies came as the freebie, well I've not been out for 5 weeks when I bought the fairy die magazine.

I did make 3 birthday cards this past week too. Used a Kaiser Craft pad for those.

Back loads better so was busy doing stuff which accounts for the incredibly late replies from last week - Sorry.

WOYWW #457 - Fairy Card

Seem to have a plethora of card requirements this month and my card box is decidedly empty.

Managed to sit at my desk earlier in the week and made a start.

One for a friend's son's 19th birthday today.
One for Mothering Sunday.

Both of those cards are already in the post. So on my desk is just the fairy one I made up from the freebie die I got in January. About time too!

Hopefully I'll get some more done today. Sitting for long is still irritating my back but I have been OKed to drive and actually went to church on Sunday and Asda yesterday! Things are looking UP!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW#456 - 20th Anniversary

Jolly glad it wasn't this cold, nor snowing when I got married 20 years ago!

Although I think there was a slight flurry during our reception.

Not much afoot on my desk, Anniversary card made, eventually.

Interesting theme you may think? Well 20 years is China and as I've been stuck in with the bad back this was all I could manage in that department.

Back is getting better slowly. Osteopath was amazing, excruciatingly painful but exhilarating at the same time! Had Aunty Flo to deal with since so not sure where the back ache was emanating from at times this week!

Jug of water on desk was from ironing, but keeping to osteopath's advice only 10 minutes at a time, hence big pile left to do and board still out.

I also made a card for a friend's son who shares the date.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #455 - Bad Back into 3rd Week!

Thank you to everyone who commented on my post last week. Apologies for not replying but the bad back is stopping me spending any amount of time at my desk which includes crafting unfortunately :(

I did manage to make my February ATC swap yesterday but paid the price afterwards. It's hidden as my partner (Sue) is a WOYWWer.

Anyway on my desk you'll see my birthday gift from one of my UKPC members. I think the piece is absolutely divine. It has been left for me to decorate/finish off as I choose so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I glued the fastener to my trinket box yesterday, not sure silicone glue was the best but it was all I had to hand.

The Starry Starry Night is my new cover to my tablet which I got from my son for my Birthday.

So Medical Update

I have an appointment with an Osteopath on Friday for my back.

I had a blood test on 14th for my lady trouble. I got the results the following day, on my birthday, only to be told I had low iron but they couldn't tell if I was anaemic as my blood count vial had lost its label. GP offered iron tablets but I refused and have been eating spinach, pistachios and of course dark chocolate - going for another test in a month's time.

Have my ultrasound appointment for 1st March, hope I can drive by then.

As for the very expensive Orthotics - they still cause problems but I haven't been able to wear-in due to bad back.

If you have made it this far, well done and thank you. Back is giving me jip sitting here so I best post this now.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #454 - Valentine's & Bad Back!

Well I was struck down with a bad back last week and am still recovering.

So all I have managed this week is a birthday card for my friend whose birthday it is today.

I used the freebie fairy die from last week.

And a Valentine for my hubby.

Hubby did spoil me today though, which included being taken to the doctors for the blood test I had to postpone since last week due to bad back.

Back still not good but at least the blood test went OK (I usually go woosey and/or they can't get any out of me!)

Dead romantic sitting in GP waiting room together!

Oh and the lone button on my desk was snipped from my nightie in the early hours as I was tossing and turning, most likely the bad back giving me jip but there again I could be a princess!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #453 - Fairy Snowflake

As I might need to be a SWAP fairy again I bought this magazine as it has a freebie fairy die by Joanna Sheen, well that is my excuse anyway! Seem to have got a piece of mirricard with it too.

As for crafting, all I have managed this week is to mend the Christmas decoration my son did in school some 14 years ago. It had become very brittle and bits were missing so I hot glued and silicon glued it to a piece of scalloped acetate. I broke off some bits to even it out and stuck other bits back too. Popped a gem in the centre as well - aw.

Did take my tree down last Friday on Candlemas, it's on my previous post, the first non-WOYWW post since last October! Golly Gosh.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Candlemas

Yes it is Candlemas and time to take the tree down. It has done well having been up since 1st December, although I knew as soon as I touched it the needles would fall today.

So here is a before and after of the conservatory.

And the various stages of dismantling.

All the decorations neatly sorted ready for boxing.

The tree naked and lots of needle drop!

The tree outside, then with its branches removed and ready for the the stick pile at the end of the garden.

Hope hedgehog is hibernating there, added another layer of warmth for him/her.

Trimmed one of the ferns back too to give the snowdrops some light.

Lots more to tidy in the garden but I made a good start today.

And I went dancing this evening too, first time since before Christmas. I'm shattered.
