About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #452 - Hat and Photo

I actually made the 270 mile round trip to my Uncle's Funeral in Birmingham (I live in Surrey) so on my desk is my funeral hat (was bought for a wedding originally but has been to numerous funerals since) and the photo my cousin produced of me aged 5yrs in 1969. Also a quickly drawn family tree, so nice to meet up with family again.

I received my ATC SWAP from another desker Cindy and she enclosed a spare WOYWW5 ATC too - LOL. Double Delight.

I made a second ATC SWAP as "fairy" for one member who was unable to do one this month. I also made the cat card.

Oh and a couple of scrapbook pages. One to end my 13th album and the other to start my 14th.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

PS It is a Blue Moon today.

WOYWW #451 - Colour Theme!

I think my desk became a bit of a dumping ground.
Popped back to Sainsbury's yesterday to pick up a couple more crop tops.

Tried on some clothes for my uncles funeral next week but only ended up with the rather bright t-shirt!

What with that, my new Lime Green phone case and my new Pink heat gun, things are definitely getting a colour theme!

I have started to populate my new die folder. The cross and dove are new and the latter was just the ticket for the 2 baptism cards I made for last Sunday.

I made the zip charm from the metal die we got in one of the Christmas crackers and a few beads.

Finally I got the "With Sympathy" word die and at the same time "Celebrate", an interesting combination. However a funeral is a way of celebrating a life here on earth before they go to glory in heaven with our maker so not such a strange combination really.

Finally the scrapbook page is stuck and is of our church weekend last April.

Just one thing to get sorted is the flattened fabric flower on my hat for the funeral. Had it handing in the bathroom with a clip holding the petals the right way and I think that might have done the trick. Of course a spot of silicone might help too.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #450 - Crafting and Heat Tools

So here we are again. Desk is pretty much back to  "normal" tidyness this morning.

The "next" scrappage awaiting sticking, the new "bra top" or crop top which I tried at badminton last night. Not worn a bra in about 5 years so as this looked fairly comfortable I gave it a go. Not bad too.

But I HAVE been crafting this week and took photos to prove it. So here is my desk last Sunday.

I made a Sympathy Card on Mum's birthday as Uncle passed away that day too.

I started scrapping on Saturday and completed 3 pages.

I came to make my SWAP ATC on the theme of "January" then my "Heat it Up" heat gun died mid-embossing.

I tried my Ranger Heat Tool but that only came on with heat but no fan and started to smoke so I switched it off PDQ.

Hubby looked at both and consigned the Ranger one to the bin.

He fixed the switch on the Blue one only after ordering a replacement switch and me ordering a NEW PINK one!

So I got to finish my SWAP ATC before my new PINK arrival and have a scrappage ready and waiting.

WOYWW #449 - Posted A Few Cards.

Desk is empty as the cards I made have been posted already.

I made a few simple thank you cards, cutting tags from old Christmas cards.
Also made my Mum's birthday card. She kept last years up all year so was looking forward to a change. It's her birthday tomorrow so shhhhhh!

Medical (Menopause) Update

My cold symptom (runny nose) didn't amount to a cold but to a full blown period after a week of spotting, now a week of flooding, all after 4 months of total absence.

Trying to piece together symptoms and noticed the hot flashes stopped at the end of November (had had them noticeably for 9 months). Since then I've had breast pains and my Lichen Sclerosus has flared up, felt tired and achy too, should have realised "the end" hadn't quite come - YET!

Hormones are having yet another mooch around I suspect!

The Orthotics for my foot pain weren't working at all, in fact were making things more painful! I went back today and they will be adjusted, I'm still hopeful in that arena.

Hope everyone else is having a better beginning to the new year health wise.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #448 - Deja Vu

Horrah, prompted by Julia's Facebook post, my desk today. Not dissimilar to last week but with a subtle difference.

I'd been putting the ATC on the journal page to make space/tidy my desk but actually I really liked how the ATC looked ON the page so decided to stick it on.

Didn't wish to cover the wild flowers so made a hinge for it. So had to decorate the back of the ATC as well. I also updated the wording from hand written to typewriter on card and added some snow too.

To recap:-

The ATC

The Original page

The page with ATC attached and updated wording.

The page with ATC attached and opened.

The back of the ATC.

Also popped my phone in my new spare cover.

And there is the obligatory list as I can't remember the day let alone what I need to achieve in it - LOL

Seem to be getting a cold as well - ho hum - glad I did the shopping yesterday now.

 Happy WOYWW Everyone.
